VETERINARY DIAGNOSTIC TESTING IN DAINGERFIELD, TX

Since we don’t have Superman’s x-ray vision, and crystal balls are unreliable, modern medical testing equipment is how we get a more in-depth peek at what’s going on inside of your pets.

From in-house lab testing to ultrasound and digital x-rays, we offer advanced diagnostic capabilities for cats, dogs, exotic pets, horses, livestock, and more.

With the variety of in-house diagnostic tests that we offer, you and your pet don’t have to wait so long for information.  We provide personalized explanations of your pet’s test results, so you can understand what is going on with your pet and make an informed decision on treatment options.

Whether we’re doing routine annual bloodwork to monitor ongoing health, or doing tests because your pet has an injury or illness, we’re equipped to provide you with the expert answers you need.

IN-HOUSE LAB TESTING

Our in-house laboratory allows us to obtain accurate results faster, providing valuable information that allows more immediate treatment decisions for your pets.

Some of the tests we perform routinely include

  • Heartworm & tickborne disease testing
  • Pancreatitis testing
  • Complete Blood Count (CBC)
  • Liver & kidney function testing
  • Diabetes testing
  • Thyroid testing
  • Identification of bacteria and parasites in various body fluids

For more complex cases, we work with trusted external laboratories and specialists who can test for just about anything imaginable.

These tests help establish baseline health, screen for hidden illnesses, and monitor chronic health issues.

VETERINARY ULTRASOUND

Ultrasonography uses high frequency sound waves to create real time pictures or video of internal organs and other soft tissue.

Ultrasound testing helps us assess

  • Abdominal organs (kidneys, liver, spleen)
  • Cardiac conditions using our color flow doppler
  • Bladder and urinary system issues
  • Tumors, cysts, and fluid accumulation in the body
  • Large and small animal reproductive health and pregnancy

Here at Daingerfield Veterinary Hospital, we have diagnostic ultrasound for use on not only small animals, but also for  equines and large/farm animals.

Ultrasound testing may be used in combination with x-rays, to help get a more complete assessment of your pet’s health.

DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY

Digital x-rays are the old-fashioned images you’re probably used to seeing, only now those images are digital files, instead of pieces of plastic that you have to hold up to a light to see the pictures.

Digital x-rays make it easier for us to send your pet’s radiographs to you, or to a specialist if needed.

Radiographs are often critical to providing us images to better assess bones, intestines, and the heart & lungs.

We may recommend x-rays for

  • Problems with the heart and lungs
  • Assessing the stomach and intestines for blockages
  • Fractures and other suspected problems with bones & joints
  • Identifying tumors
